Genus & Species : Buteo regalis
Status: Common winter visitor to the large agricultural fields south of Yuma (southwestern Arizona) and in the Sulphur Springs Valley (southeastern Arizona); uncommon to rare in the Imperial Valley and in other agricultural areas of southern California
Habitat: Grassy fields and plains; often seen in agricultural areas with gopher infestations
Seen recently at: ag fields south of Yuma, AZ, recorded on every winter visit south of Yuma during 2012/2013
Best Chances: Southwest Arizona, common south of Yuma
