White-winged Doves are
abundant in summer in the Colorado River Valley and surrounding
farmlands. They are also quite common in the Imperial
Valley. They are late migrants in the spring, and then head
south during the first few weeks in September, coinciding with the
dove-hunting season. A very few spend the winter in the
area. Look for them during the summer along the Gila River and
in Yuma.
