Acorn
Woodpeckers are very common breeders in the mountain forests of
Southern California and Southeast Arizona. They will rarely
venture down to the Imperial Valley in the winter. Noisy and
flashy, they are easy to see in the mountain parks like Cuyamaca and
the Laguna Recreation Area.
